Venice Design Week
BOAH NOVA has been selected to join the Light Selection 2026 at Venice Design Week, presenting three pieces that carry our philosophy of restraint, material honesty and craftsmanship to an international stage. Being chosen alongside designers from across Europe is a recognition of something we've believed since we started in Leça da Palmeira: that lighting made with responsibility still has something essential to say.
Our pieces
In Venice, from 9th to 18th October, we will showcase three pieces from our portfolio that embody our singular dialogue between wood, light, and architectural simplicity.
BAI2f
BAI2f explores the relationship between light and proportion through a broad circular form. It is built from birch wood and finished with chalk paint: the outer surface is black, the inner surface is gold. Light from the bulb strikes the gold interior and reaches the surrounding space as reflected light, producing a warm, diffuse glow. The simplicity of the form allows the relationship between wood, light and scale to remain at the centre of the design.

SITXt
SITXt takes the simplicity of a natural horizon as a starting point, translating it into a low, continuous wooden form. Its silhouette allows the light to spread, creating a soft, indirect illumination. The lampshade is made from birch wood and finished with a water-based stain that preserves the visual character of the material. Light creates an even glow that extends in all directions and reveals the shape of the lamp.

KAPPx
KAPPx is built around a simple circular form and a small central opening through which the light source becomes visible. Rather than hiding the bulb completely, the design makes it part of the composition, while the surrounding birch wood reflects the light. Finished with a black water-based stain, the lampshade creates a clear contrast between the dark surface and the warm light at its centre. The opening is an integral part of the form, making the wooden structure and the light source visible together.
